Ran the first annual nutrition seminar (including a catered meal) for ~20 young superheroes and their parents, helping to ensure that our athletes are getting the right kinds and right amounts of food to fuel their performance. The seminar opened a dialogue with parents to answer questions about what their kids should be eating without making them feel judged.

Trained competitors for the National Youth Olympic Weightlifting Championships and hosted qualifying athletes in “virtual nationals” that took place remotely.

Hosted a professionally moderated Zoom Q&A with NFL Pro Bowler Charles Leno for ~100 athletes and coaches from multiple high schools around Oakland, allowing both groups to ask questions about training for elite performance.

Designed and hosted a two-day National Youth Olympic Weightlifting Camp with Olympian coaches, funding camp costs as well as flights and hotel rooms for young athletes from around the country to participate.

Designed and equipped a weight room for Madison Park Academy, an Oakland middle/high school. Worked with Eleiko to model the best use of the space and secure discounts on world-class equipment, and then supplemented the school’s budget to complete the renovation.

Hosted the fourth annual Rite of Passage meet, the only USA Weightlifting-sanctioned meet for first-time competitors. By the start of the pandemic, the meets awarded $14k in total prize money and enrolled 600+ new members for USA Weightlifting.
